'Social studies is the integrated study of the social sciences and humanities to promote civic competence."
Simply put: Humans are a social beings that need to be together, and learning the how, why, where, and history of how we live
together is what social studies is all about. Learning about ourselves, our social needs, and history helps us make
knowledgeable choices for our community, state, country, and world.
Garner-Hayfield students have a great opportunity
to learn the social sciences with a good range of classes.
I teach American Government, Economics, Western Cultures,
Asian Cultures, Psychology, and Sociology. Mr. Smith teaches American History, World History I, and World History II.
